"Anybody out there that has depression or anxiety or PTSD, it's really hard." Emily's story.

Christel:

Hello, I'm Christel with Christel Clear photography. And this is Emily and she's been helping me for the last two years, taking the cat pictures. So we meet here at the humane society, and we do the cat pictures on Wednesdays and we just finished up. And she's also come to me for portraits a couple of times. Is it twice now?

Emily was my assistant when taking the cat portraits at the Humane Society. We both just love cats. We had an occasional dog in our portrait studio too.

Emily:

Yes, twice now.

Christel:

And she really loves the pinup style. So she started talking about her pictures and I said, can I interview you? So, Emily, I want you to talk now and just tell me your experience.

Emily:

I'm going to try to do this without crying. In my first photoshoot, I weighed 250 pounds. I wasn't proud of myself. I didn't have any, I don't know. Like I just didn't want to get out of bed. I didn't want to do anything. I wasn't getting attention from guys. And it was basically because I was on very depression medicine. I don't know. It's hard to explain. Anybody out there that has depression or anxiety or PTSD, it's really hard. And you just have to take it one day at a time. And I was getting too ahead of myself. Well, I finally got off that medicine and have lost 120 pounds to this day and I'm hoping to lose more. My second photoshoot was amazing. I couldn't believe that that was me. I cried when I got the pictures I showed my mom and dad. They were a little like, okay. You know, those are a little personal, but they're beautiful. And she made me beautiful. And if you have any problems with self-esteem like I did, I highly suggest that you get pictures taken by her. And I hope in the future to take more. I'm hoping to lose the weight first though, but I will see her again and she takes amazing pictures. And anybody out there, I highly suggest her.

Christel:

Oh, thank you, Emily. And just knowing you and just keeping up with you and you're sharing your journey with me. I mean, it's pretty special to me. Thank you.

Emily:

You're special. I love you.

Christel:

I love you too.

Now we are both going to cry.

Here is Emily rockin' this body stocking! She looks amazing! And this kitten she adopted during the time we were volunteers at the Humane Society. It took much self control for Emily not to take a kitten or cat home with her every week. This is from her second photo shoot with me.

Emily is confident and beautiful.

She also joined THE FOOTBALL DIVAS CONTEST!

Her nick name for the contest is "Kitty Mode"

You can listen here to the video of us. She gave me a hug and we both got choked up. I really got to know and appreciate her genuine heart and qualities. Ok so we cry in the end. https://youtu.be/o8K8MbbPHJo
